Officially the first week away from home and let me tell you, it flew by! The things we have been doing  with our time has made it incrediably easy to make it through a day. Starting back at the beginning of the week, we got to go to the community that we will be spending most of our time at, for the first time. Which was amazing because the people are so friendly and welcoming. We stayed there for about 5 hours and the time we were there, most of us  anyways just played sports with all the kids. Alot of vollyball and soccer, which was nice because I was able to get a good sweat on. It blew my mind of how little they had and yet, how proud of everything that they did have. You really didnt feel like you were going into a poor, depressing place but a happy and playful community. I can already tell that we are going to do great things there.

As for these last couple of days, on Thursday we went to a childrens orphanage which was about an hour away. It was an awesome place to go to also, although alot of hard work, we ended up planting trees for about 4 hours in plus 40 weather!!! soo hot !!! It was neat though because the orphanage was self sustianing so they grew and produced the most amazing fruits and vegatables. The little toddlers were all so cute and playful, seriously could have spent all day there. On our way home we ended up hitting a massive storm and we all ended up getting soaked in the back of our missionary truck, which wasnt to fun. But will live….

And today Im sitting here writting this blog after a long hot day at the beach !!!!! We found out a couple days ago we were going to the beach so this morning we were all really excited to get out there. To add to the excitement of wanting to go to the beach the volcano apparently got a little excited as well. After getting out of breakfast, we noticed that all the secruity gaurds were freaking out, so we decided to go check out why. And when we turned around and looked at the massive volcano behind our home we saw sky darkening smoke pouring out of the volcano. Which was so Crazy! but the locals assured us it was going to be fine and we werent going to get washed away by lava. As for the rest of the day we showed up at this incrediable beach, with HUGE waves which I have never experianced before, only the 2 foot ones in Mexico. When we got far enough out, the waves were well over 10 feet !!!! we were all soo stoked. Something that happened that was kinda funny was that some of us ended up 15 cardobas for a coke and some of us paid 20 cardobas from the same lady. Which sounds like a big deal but when your only paying 15 cent for a bottle of coke you tend not to care. The rest of the day turned out great and lot of us had seen enough sun for one day. Sure enough when we got home we were all sooo burnt and tired that most of us crashed on our beds for a good 2 hours. Really excited to head back next saturday…..

So anyways my next blog will probs be next weekend some time, dont really know when. I'll make sure I keep all of you updated. Love my family and friends so much back home. Hope you guys are all having a great transition back into school.

Peace Out!
